Our Story

Canis Major was created in 2013 by Mr. Bond Rideout. 

Bond's vision for Canis Major is to give an affordable, high quality, raw dog food option to all dog owners within the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, and beyond. 

Since being launched in 2014, Canis Major has added its bone, treat, and bars line in 2016 and also Newfoundland Dog Treats in early 2017. Since 2021 Canis Major has been sourcing, supplying and acting as a distributor for some of the worlds most iconic Pet products and product lines! 

About Bond Rideout

 Bond Rideout, originally from Blaketown, NL, has been involved in business and entrepreneurship since a very early age. His parents joke that he made money as a child selling "live, pet rocks". Before launching Canis Major, Bond successfully owned and operated Neptune Sea Products where he provided high quality "Ready to Eat" fish products throughout Altantic Canada and the United States of America.

At Canis Major, we love dogs and want to ensure that all dogs and their owners have a positive and healthy experience. We offer 24 hour a day quality support and advice via facebook messenger or email! We are always available to help answer questions no matter the time! 

We do our best to make every puppy, dog, and dog parent happy. We stand by the quality of our products and product lines and are happy to replace anything which may not be satisfactory to our customers.
